Weight-inclusive Classes
Feel comfortable, supported and safe in our HAES-aligned and size inclusive pilates classes at our studio in Hawthorn, Melbourne or online
We know how intimidating movement and pilates can feel, especially for people living in bigger bodies.
That’s why we use various pilates equipment like the Cadillac, Reformer, Wunda chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, Tower, and accessory props, as well as modifications and tailored instructions in our private and small group classes that work with your body, not against it.
FEEL-GOOD MOVEMENT
FOR BIGGER BODIES
Feel the memories of oppressive, weight-focused and judgemental exercise classes melt away as you walk into our safe, cosy and empowering space.
Whether you pop into our ground floor Melbourne pilates studio or prefer to move from the comfort of your own home, our HAES-aligned pilates teacher Alannah will never make you feel like your body is a problem to be fixed or that you can’t do a move, stretch or flex because of your body.
While each session’s intention is movement, it’s also about transforming how you feel in and about your body.
WHAT IS WEIGHT-INCLUSIVE PILATES?
When we say weight-inclusive pilates, we mean tailoring our classes to a person's body size without a need to change, fix, or focus on their weight.
Regardless of their body shape, size, or weight, we adapt our mat, reformer, cadillac and chair classes using props, modifications, and adjustments making your comfort, confidence and dignity our priority
TRAUMA-INFORMED PILATES MELBOURNE
We understand that traditional gyms, Pilates studios, and yoga studios don’t have a reputation for being size-inclusive. As a result, people living in bigger bodies may have experienced trauma in these movement settings. We’re a trauma-informed studio capable of holding space for our clients to explore gentle movement while navigating challenging past experiences, especially in a group setting.
We appreciate that entering a movement setting again can trigger previous experiences of overwhelm, shame, and judgement. That's why we promise to listen to, validate, and affirm your lived experience and meet you where you are, tailoring a movement plan to your values and goals

Health at Every Size (HAES) is an approach to health that looks beyond a person's weight to support people of all body shapes and sizes in accessing healthcare free of weight stigma. We provide HAES-aligned exercise classes by tailoring them to a person's capacity and focusing on their strength, flexibility, pain, and how they feel rather than on their weight or appearance.

If you’ve struggled with body image issues, disordered eating, or an eating disorder, approaching exercise might feel daunting. Perhaps in the past, exercise was a way to punish your body or driven by desires for weight loss or body shape changes. It's natural to be cautious now - it shows you’re healing and don’t want to repeat the past.
Developing a healthy relationship with exercise and movement is a personal journey that takes time and varies from person to person. This process is often complicated by diet culture, which has distorted messages about body shape, size, and what it truly means to be ‘healthy’. Finding your way through this can be challenging, but it’s a crucial step towards genuine well-being.

No. We know mirrors can be incredibly triggering, so we prefer to keep them in the bathroom where they belong. Our priority is to make you feel comfortable and safe, which to us means never having mirrors in the studio.
