ABOUT
ROSY MOVEMENT
MOVE WITH JOY NOT RULES
OUR WHY
FOR YOU TO FEEL SEEN AND HEARD
At Rosy Movement, we believe movement should be intuitive, joyful, and empowering. Now established in our Collingwood studio, we're creating a space where movement becomes a celebration rather than a chore.
OUR GOAL
EMPOWERING YOU TO UNDERSTAND YOUR UNIQUE BODY AND MOVEMENT LANGUAGE
We guide you to develop a sustainable relationship with movement based on intuition and joy, not rules and restrictions. Because exercise isn't about what we do to our bodies or what it does to us—it's about what we do with our bodies that makes our lives better.
OUR APPROACH
A PERFECTION-FREE SPACE WHERE LEARNING THRIVES
While pilates and exercise is central to our life and work, we remain humbled by its limitations. The Rosy Movement studio in Collingwood offers a safe, cosy, and inclusive environment where you're welcomed exactly as you are.
Too often, we put off starting because we're scared of being bad at something or hurting ourselves—and movement is a big one. In a world that counts and compares, where we seek help not because of how we feel but because of what our data tells us, we've forgotten how to simply enjoy moving our bodies as they are. Our goal is to create a welcoming space where you feel so safe and supported that you don't care how you look, how quickly you progress, or how many mistakes you make.
Let's celebrate every step, stumble, and success along the way.

ABOUT
ALANNAH MILLER
[& BEAR]
PILATES TEACHER | MOVEMENT & EXERCISE SCIENTIST
As the founder and principal of Rosy Movement, Alannah brings nearly a decade of teaching experience combined with a unique background that bridges the worlds of movement artistry and exercise science.
What drives your approach to movement?
While Pilates and exercise are central to my life and work, I recognise their limitations in truly helping people feel healthy, capable, and fulfilled. Humans are not robots, who respond to prescribed exercise alone. Without acknowledging the complex factors that influence wellbeing and deeply knowing each person, people often leave traditional fitness spaces feeling misunderstood and disconnected.
How did your journey to founding Rosy Movement begin?
My path began in the dance world, where I developed a deep understanding of movement as both an art form and a means of expression. However, I wanted to understand the 'why' behind the physiology of exercise, movement patterns and how they affect our overall wellbeing. This curiosity led me to pursue exercise science, where I could combine the cathartic and intuitive aspects of movement with evidence-based approaches. Rosy Movement was born from this desire to create a space where scientific understanding meets compassionate care, where movement becomes a pathway to reconnection rather than another source of judgement or pressure.
What's your approach to working with clients?
I aim to empower my people to learn about their bodies, their unique movement language, and the benefits and limitations of exercise. In providing high-touch and below-the-surface care, they can develop a sustainable relationship with their bodies and how they move, guided by intuition and joy rather than rules and restrictions.
What might surprise people about your teaching style?
Many people expect Pilates to be rigid and prescriptive, so they're often surprised by how collaborative and exploratory our sessions are. I'm not interested in being the all-knowing instructor who dictates every move—I'm much more passionate about creating an environment where you can connect with your body, discover what works and what doesn't, and build the confidence to explore those discoveries and make movement choices for yourself.
What's your favourite thing about the Collingwood community?
Collingwood has this wonderful blend of creative energy and community spirit that perfectly aligns with Rosy Movement's ethos. I love the local cafes, the street art, and the sense that everyone is welcome exactly as they are. The neighbourhood's diversity and openness mirror what I strive to create in the studio every day.

Bear serves as Rosy Movement's unofficial studio manager, chief welcomer, and emotional support companion.
