MOVE WITH JOY NOT RULES
Rosy Movement is a boutique Pilates and Yoga studio at 20 Smith St, Collingwood.
It was founded on the belief that every person deserves to experience movement as a source of joy — free from shame, comparison, and the pressure to perform.
Alannah Miller, Susan Dowd, and Leia Mulroy are nationally accredited movement professionals who share a person-first philosophy.
While Pilates, Yoga, and exercise science are the tools we use, protecting and advocating for our clients' mental and emotional well-being is always our first priority.
Rosy Movement isn’t about Pilates exercises, Yoga flows, or trendy workouts.
We believe in building the skill of personal agency. The skill of figuring out what works for you, rather than following someone else's arbitrary rules or society's expectations.
What we offer is embodiment, deep awareness, and a movement practice that evolves as you do.
“You go to Rosy for the expertise, but you stay for the kindness and the curiosity. The way they listen and guide, not talk and prescribe, has allowed me to move forward physically and mentally.”
— Stef, Private MemberOUR WHY
For every person who walks through our door to feel seen, heard, and understood.
OUR GOAL
We are here to help you build a sustainable, intuitive relationship with movement—guided by what matters to you, not by rules imposed on you.
OUR APPROACH
Human first, movement second. Pilates, Yoga, and exercise science are our tools, but our commitment is to the person in front of us, not conforming to rigid fitness traditions.
How we practice evolves alongside the latest research on pain, movement, and the nervous system—an ongoing commitment to learning that always holds the complexity of the human experience at its center.
THE TEAM
Alannah Miller
PILATES TEACHER, EXERCISE SCIENTIST AND FOUNDER
Alannah founded Rosy Movement after a decade of learning, teaching, and refining her practice across fitness, sport, and clinical environments — developing a deep understanding of what person-centred care requires, and who mainstream fitness leaves behind.
Rosy was born from a conviction that the intake process matters, the person behind the prescription matters, and that movement should never come with shame, judgement, or pressure to perform attached.
Alannah holds a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science from Deakin University, is an Accredited Exercise Scientist with ESSA, and a certified Pilates Teacher. She holds verified status with Size Inclusive Health Australia, is an Accredited Mental Health First Aider, and a prenatal and postnatal movement specialist. Alannah engages in ongoing professional development and business mentorship with Alex O'Neill King, senior physiotherapist, Pilates educator, and founder of AOK Keep Moving — so the standard of care at Rosy upholds the trust our people place in us.
Alannah’s teaching is purposeful, collaborative and exploratory. Every decision, every word, every structural choice traces back to a deeply held why that every person deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood.
Susan Dowd
PILATES TEACHER
Susan joined Rosy Movement in August 2025 and brought with her a steady, calm presence that our members feel from the moment they are in the room with her.
She holds a Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction, Certificate IV in Pilates Matwork and Reformer, and has a background in communications. She specialises in prenatal and postnatal movement and adaptive movement approaches.
Susan does not believe there is a perfect way to do Pilates. She cares about whether a movement is serving the person doing it, creating sessions that are relevant without being rigid, and challenging without being pressured.
Susan meets you exactly where you are, and loves to find a way to take you somewhere new.
Leia Mulroy
YOGA AND PILATES TEACHER
Leia joined Rosy Movement in November 2025 and brought with her a depth of training that is rare in a single practitioner. She holds a Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction, a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training qualification, 150 hours of specialist Yin and myofascial release training, pranayama and breathwork study, and a Bachelor of Health Science in Nutritional Medicine.
Leia holds a deep respect for the body and the time people choose to spend engaging in organised exercise. Her sessions are integrative by design, drawing on the combination of modalities to serve whoever is in front of her, in whatever way they need that day.
Connection sits at the centre of everything Leia teaches creating a movement experience you will not find anywhere else.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Rosy Movement works with people who pour a great deal into the world and have ended up depleted by it. People who've tried the standard fitness options and come away misunderstood, stifled and unsatisfied. People who carry complex movement histories — injuries, conditions, difficult experiences with fitness spaces — and are looking for a place to move that is fiercely committed to supporting their emotional and mental well-being, as much as they care about improving physical capacity.
Rosy Movement is particularly well suited to people navigating perimenopause or menopause, pregnancy and postpartum recovery, clinical rehabilitation, or size-inclusive movement that does not centre weight loss or aesthetic outcomes.
We know the relationship between body and movement can be complicated. You don't need to arrive ready, certain, or at peace with your body. Wherever you're starting from, you're welcome here.
“I genuinely think people should join Rosy if they want a more comprehensive understanding of how their individual body works. You won't have to constantly re-explain yourself or feel like you're starting from scratch.”
